Personal Training is the basis of what we do. It provides everything that you need to know in order to get the very most of out being a member at our gym and that’s why we value it so highly. Having a Coach for life begins with them teaching you how to move properly, and how to look after your lifestyle more effectively. We’ve all made lifestyle changes in the past and are here to help guide you to where you want to go. You will not be directed, you will be listened to first and then helped to construct a plan that suits you and your life situation. Plans, goals and ideas are meaningless without execution.
At CrossFit Chichester, it is often perceived from the outside that you need to be fit before starting, and that is simply not the case. Our initial personal training program covers everything from your lifestyle, to your flexibility, to improving your nutrition, both inside and outside of the gym. It’s our plan that with excellent coaching, a person can do our fundamentals program and then feel at lot more confident that they will be able to handle classes even if they don’t intend to.
Not only is this the case but if you wish to carry on with personal training, then absolutely do so. The program can then be further delivered to suit your own needs and help to develop you as an athlete and as a human being. Our program is there to help you develop a more robust physique that can take on anything life has to throw at you, and look good in the process. When you decide to take on us as your gym, then not only will it be about developing a personal relationship with your trainer but also feeling integrated into the community of what is a vibrant group of people.

Coach For Life
For as long as you’re a member of the gym, you’ll have someone who can help guide you through the process of getting fit. This person you go to when you want a PT, or keep in contact with them if you have any questions. Class can be intimidating to start with, so when you’ve got someone there who you’ve had 10+ hours of coaching with, you’re much more likely to feel more comfortable in it.
Once a quarter (or more if you want), you will continue to meet with your coach in a one-on-one environment.
Having a coach for life helps you stay on track with your training and your goals.
Once we head on out into group class we nearly always find more things that we need to work on. This is where your coach can make a big difference. They’re there for you.
Also, once you have been in classes for a while, you may want to do some more specialty work, such as begin a strength program. Your coach will put together strength or skill-based additional programs for you once you get to that point.
Having a good coach, who can mentor you through the fitness process, makes the difference between you sticking with it, or just petering out. We want you, beyond a shadow of a doubt, to be able to keep coming, no matter what, and that our coaches are totally committed to.
Our physical benchmarks are scores our students must reach on specific movements and workouts before they graduate to group classes. Read more here on what our exact physical benchmark requirements are.
Benchmarks are a way to measure your progress so we know when you’re ready for group classes. And once you’re in group classes, benchmarks continue to allow us to assess your development.
On your end, understanding the benchmarks will help you see exactly what we’re looking for, and exactly what level you need to be at before you’re safe to enter group classes.
Consequently, our benchmarks also help group classes run smoothly because we know that everyone in attendance is at an appropriate fitness level.
CrossFit Group Class
We offer classes in the morning and evening on weekdays. And we’re open on weekends, too. As our community grows we will offer more classes. See full class schedule here.
We will eventually have a morning coach and evening coach. This means that you will not be coached by a tired, burnt out coach at 8 pm. Our coaches will work a manageable 20 to 30 hours a week, so they have plenty of energy to give to each student and each class.
We don’t just intend to offer personal training and group classes. We shall have both seasonal and ongoing specialty programs for students who are looking to work on their weaknesses, or for students who just want to mix it up a bit.
We offer all different types from kettlebell workshops, movement workshops, Olympic lifting, Yoga and Mobility classes, and Social functions. It’s all part of keeping our members progressing at things that matter.
Our specialty programs help students tackle their weaknesses and they simply provide more options for experienced students who want to try something new.
There are many elements that go into making a world-class facility. From the training components like having enough space and equipment to practical components like free parking and showers, our facility has all the necessary components to help you get fit and stay fit for life.
Imagine having to fork out an extra six pounds every time you park your car for a workout. Or having to park a mile away from the facility. This is the case for many locations.
Inconveniences like parking are enough to deter you from going to the gym at all. Things like having plenty of natural light and big bay doors might seem like small peanuts, but when they’re taken away, people notice.
In short, everything runs more smoothly when things are convenient.
We have studied what makes a good place to work out and have teamed up with some of the best CrossFit gyms in the world to learn learned what people need and want from their training facility.
The strength in our school lies in our community. From BBQs to parties to fitness competitions, our students are more than just fitness junkies.
Fitness is something that should make your life better. It’’s not something we think should dominate your life. We believe it’s important to be well-rounded people who know how to let loose, have a drink and socialize with friends.
And we have learned that students who are engaged in the community are more likely to want to show up to the school to workout – because they show up not just to workout, but also to enjoy themselves socially.
Apprentice Coaching Program
We are a School of Fitness. This means that all of our coaches are going through, or will have gone through, an extensive apprentice diploma program.
By the time they’re working with students they’ve done more than just a weekend course that tells them they’re now certified to personal train.
Our students spend months shadowing coaches before they work with their own students. They attend seminars – from Olympic weightlifting to mobility to gymnastics workshops. And they’re required to write tests in subjects ranging from anatomy to exercise physiology to coaching cues and nutrition. Read more about our extensive coaching diploma programs here.
We want to ensure that your coaches are experts when it comes to fitness and strength and conditioning.
The same way getting fit takes time – so does learning how to coach. By the time your coach starts working with you, he/she is a knowledgeable fitness professional.
