Todays episode is about how having a friend, and cultivating that relationship can literally make all the difference in your health goals.

Rebecca and Kate have been friends since nursery, and they both started the six week challenge within a week of each other. They’ve done many different sports together. Have always remained active but needed the structure of a program to help them take their fitness goals further.

In this episode we cover everything from how what kinds of sports they did growing up (everything from horse riding to forming a skateboarding club!) to what has the biggest impact been for them having started their CrossFit journey.

Voodoo flossing is a simple but effective method to ease joint and muscle pain, especially in places like knees and elbows. It can be useful for people who do a lot of exercise or are just starting out in fitness. Here’s how it works:

What You Need:

  • A special stretchy band called a “floss band.”

How to Do It:

  1. Wrap the floss band around the part of your body that hurts (like your elbow or knee). Make it snug but not too tight, about 70% tight.
  2. Start at the part farthest from the centre of your body and wrap the band upwards. Overlap each wrap a little.
  3. Make sure the whole painful area is covered with the band.
  4. When you’re done wrapping, check to see if the skin under the band turns pink when you press on it. If it stays white, it’s time to take the band off.
  5. Be careful not to wrap it too tightly; it could leave bruises when you take it off.
  6. After you remove the band, move the joint back and forth.
  7. Check if the pain is less or if you can move the joint better.

Please grab a coach if you’re not sure how to do this.

Any questions, post to comments.

I get this done once or twice a week on a good week. We keep it simple and consistent.

The more that time goes on, the more that I can see from tracking the right metrics in my life, that I can improve it. Using Whoop, I’ve been able to completely change my heart rate data, simply by making overarching changes to my life. These changes have not been easy but they’ve been really important. All I can is that the journey ensues, and I’m so amazed and how much health I’ve got back by reducing stress.
